The story of the Three Holy Youths, also known as the Three Hebrew Boys—Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego—is a significant narrative in the Coptic Orthodox tradition. According to the Book of Daniel, these young men were captives in Babylon who refused to worship King Nebuchadnezzar’s golden idol, choosing instead to remain faithful to God. As punishment, they were thrown into a fiery furnace. However, they were miraculously unharmed, and a divine figure, often interpreted as an angel, appeared with them in the fire, protecting them. Their deliverance is celebrated as a testament to unwavering faith and God’s power to save those who trust in Him, even in the face of certain death.
